COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – Update

In light of the rapidly evolving situation regarding the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), I would like to update you on the approach we are taking to mitigate the potential impact and minimise the risk the virus poses to colleagues, residents, clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and contacts.

Simply UK’s management team continues to monitor WHO, UK and Scottish Government advice and is meeting regularly to review our policies and plan accordingly. I am pleased to tell you our operations are currently unaffected, however stricter measures have been put in place at our Care Home in addition to stringent cleaning and disinfection campaigns on all sites, which have begun this weekend, measures are being put in place and relevant toolbox talks and training will be given to all, to confirm what steps need to be taken.

We will continue our cleaning, with working areas being treated with hospital-grade disinfectant.

Our care home communal areas are all fitted with extremely efficient HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestors) filters, which remove particles in the air, down to the size of microscopic bacteria and virus clusters (with an efficiency of better than 99.99%), this coupled with separate MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery) units to each bedroom, our infection control and small group living allows controlled measures to be taken.

Our priorities are safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all.

We have an established business continuity plan and continue to monitor our plans and confirm that all sites and offices will remain open at this time, noting that only essential visits to care homes are taking place.

While it is impossible to predict the impact of COVID-19, it is clear that social distancing measures are likely to increase. We have already taken the precautionary step of cancelling or postponing meetings and replacing them, as appropriate, with conference calls and video links.

These are uncertain times and I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that Simply UK stands ready to support, we will take all measures at our disposal not only to maintain continuity of service but also to help you plan and prepare for the challenging times ahead.
